Erik was born in Echo Park, Los Angeles (at the Dream Center). He spent the first few years of his life in Atwater Village and moved right across the train tracks to Glendale, California. He grew up in Glendale attending Balboa Elementary, Toll Middle School and Herbert Hoover High. In his teenage years, Erik would spend his weekends helping his general contractor uncle for 10 dollars and a burrito a day. He acquired a lot of construction knowledge and eventually helped his father build a house.

Erik found himself in the retail world learning the ways of customer service, merchandising and operations. He carried and refined these skills throughout his career and into real estate, where all of his interests began to converge. The natural next step was to get his real estate license.
